I need your help!

Hello everyone! :icon_question: I'm Ellen in Beijing China. I have been worked in a large comprehensive hospital about six years. Now I'm working at RICU (Resperatory ICU). You know, the job is so hard and we care every patient with use ventilator, they can't move, talk, eat, drink, everything in bed. We also shift day and shift night, it's 10 hours per workday, 8AM-6PM or 6PM-8AM. I think I will crazy, because I don't sleep at night. I am especially worried and gloomy. Hardly am I unhappy everyday. My husband suggested me that why you didn't go to USA as a nurse, it might be better than in China. I found many information about nursing job of in differernt states in America. I assume that nurses' work in US is more easier than in China before, now I changed. Nurses in the world are very hard!!! Am I right? But I still want to complete my study to get a degree in US. Do you think how difficult will I study in BSN or NELCX exam? Can you give me any suggestion? Say something:icon_lol:

Check out the international forum. There is a sticky called Primer to working in the US which will give you lots of info. Doesn't matter where in the world you work nursing can be hard. Moving countries is something that you really want to do as it will be very stressful. Be prepared for a long wait and plenty of patience as it is a long process to move to the US. Currently going through it myself

How long was your nursing program in China? You are going to need to get a credential's eval done to see what you will get credit for, etc. The easiest route for that is to go thru CGFNS, then it will be accepted all over.

CGFNS International and you want the CES.

This will be your first step before you even apply to any program.............

:Holly1: Thanks a lot! I graduated the nursing school of PUMC. My nursing program was four years. Now I have got college credits, but it isn't BSN. Yon mean if I will take RN/PN program, I must thru CGFNS or CES to evaluate my all of documents about nursing program? :icon_question:

Welcome to the forum! Nursing can be very challenging across the board (and rewarding too!)

Welcome to allnurses! Glad that you're here. Yes, it is a very demanding profession no matter which unit or specialty you are involved in, no matter what country you are in while practicing. That is one reason I thank God that I have allnurses and (most) of the wonderful, caring NURSES in here to commisurate with. Good luck in finding a niche in American medicine/nursing.
