This is the 3rd semester that I have not been able to get into Medical Microbiology.
Normally I cannot get there until after work but today I got there by 9:30 am and all sections were closed. I heard that people got there at 5am to register for the class. The weird thing is that the night sections were not even listed in the listings. I do not know what to do. I will have to check everyday. The thing that sucks is that this school does not have online registering so you have to go up there.
Last June I checked the listings the day that I came home from a cruise and I saw that they had added a section and there were 15 seats open. I ran up there and they say: "oh that section is for people who work at North Shore". The class never filled up.
Oh well, maybe next time.

Can you take the class as a non-matriculant student at one of the CUNY's?
I never thought about that. I will have to look into that.

What is the failure rate for the class? This can work in your favor.
If the class has a high failure rate, some professors will "cut you in", because after the first exam, usually about 10% of the students won't come back or will drop the course, and it will continue to decline from there.
Some students that register won't show up, won't pay for their tuition, you name it, it happens
So you really need to speak with the professor to see what your options are.
I go to Nassau Community College.

I got in to micro at Nassau this past summer only becasue I woke up at 5Am in the morning. And I really believd that i would be the only one onl ine. I was wrong--the line was out the door and thru the cafeteria. You must be there on the 1st day of registration in the Am to get into a micro class. That's the only way. Good Luck.
