Hi.I am just new on this board but i read your advices few months.I have long story but i would like to tell just short.I am international nurse from Europe and I came to US just last year in September.I need somewhere to start so I applied for STNA training and finished in April.A week ago I passed my STNA test so now I am registered in NAR in Ohio.I am looking for a job but i already had an interview and they offer me just $8/hr.Do you know which facilities pay more? Also how they pay in a hospitals?

Thank you for your answers. Good luck for every nurse:nurse:

Hi Tishirajan,

I read your profile and we are almost same age:yeah:In my nick numbers is year where I was born. Also I read you Blog page and you going on college? Wow you are in a same situation as me.I forgot everything! Math and especially here I need perfect English:cry:.First of all i need a job and after my next goal is evaluation my education from Slovakia/my natural country:)/It's going to be hard but I would like to work here as a nurse because I did it for 17 years in Slovakia. It's my life.I wish you good luck with your studying.

Ah, I see. The waiting is the hardest. Yes, I'll be taking my prerequisites starting in August at a local community college. I hope to then transfer to a university to get my BSN at a later time.

I wish you luck as well. If you ever need anyone to talk to or have any questions, feel free to e-mail me or msg me here. I think you are going to do great here in the US. Hang in there!:hngon:

Best wishes,

Tish~:)

If your orientation is anything like mines, mainly what you do for the first couple of days is just fill out paperwork, watch videos & read through packets regarding procedures of the facility, company policies & etc.. After that we had to follow one of the other aides & learn about each resident's needs, care plan etc..
