This one is important.....very important. I suggest you look it up and remember it because Dilaudid is something you will come in contact with a lot in nursing and its effects can be severe. It is an amazingly effective drug!

First of all, Dilaudid is going to affect the Respiratory. Respiration's will decrease, etc.

Second, one other system that could be affected is the Excretory System. Urinary retention can be caused from opiate pain relievers they can also cause constipation.

If you dug deep and really looked you could probably find that Dilaudid affects many of the different body systems in many different ways. Think about it....how would Dilaudud affect the nervous system, the integumentary system?
