Hi,
I'm in the process of taking my pre requisites at the Houston Community College. I've been waiting for three days to hear from the school as to what humanity class is acceptable for nursing. I really need to register for this class over the summer. Does anyone know what humanity classes are acceptable for nursing????
Thank You!!!!!!

Your school's catalog should give a list of what they consider humanities courses. I took speech for mine, but other options were a couple of different English courses and various philosophy courses. There isn't one specifically that you have to have for nursing, as far as I know. I hated the thought of public-speaking but really enjoyed my speech class, and whenever I've had to give a speech since then I've been able to remember tips I learned from that class.
ETA: Music and art are usually classified under fine and performing arts, not humanities.

If your school's catalog is unclear, make an appointment with an academic advisor. If anything, they can contact the nursing department and ask them to specify acceptable courses

Search for general education requirements for your school. They should have gen ed humanities listed. Stuff like communication studies, english literature, languages, philosophy, history... Many things can go here.
Off note: My current school actually took one of my English lits for fine arts credit..Which is fine by me, but I thought that was weird.

Nice. I guess it just depends on the school!

Check with a nursing adviser. At my school there were certain "humanities" that were accepted by the nursing program. So to be on the safe side just check to see what an adviser recommends.
