How do you...

After a stressful day/night at work how do you unwind?

Featured Replies

I walk my dog. A good day/night, I'll walk him a mile or two. A bad day/night -- I'll walk until I unwind. Years ago, I took my two golden retrievers for a walk and walked 11 miles! I had to call DH to come and take the dogs home because their pads were raw! Other people take hot baths, have a glass of wine or unwind during their commute with a blasting radio or a book on tape.

Walking would be an excellent idea.. I know exercise relieves stress but sometimes when I have a really bad day/night I just feel exhausted.. that and I always crave junk food. I think I'll invest in some good walking shoes & start making that a daily thing.

At AllNurses of course! :D

Love walking barefoot (earthing) at the beach.

... a favorite TV show or movie.

... a praying meditation.

Hug my baby and lay on the couch to veg out

I take a bath, meditate and try to get some sleep. On my days off, I take the time to exercise which really takes the edge off for me. Also, I find that working through the thoughts about my work is really what clears up the stress. Any job can be stressful. I've seen people burn out from working behind a desk, stamping invoices and making photocopies all day. So it really is about state of mind.

I watch something funny to take the edge off. our job is kinda depressing so it takes the edge off to just laugh.
