Hi Suzanne & all of you waiting to get to the US. I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it's taking right now from I-140 Approval to Green Card? I had a 4 month delay in my process, due to "ironing out" some issues with my contract with my sponsor. I got I-140 approval October 4 and the Immigration Attorney has paid the Visa Bill. I am with Texas Service Center and they are now working on applications with receipt numbers issued on or before September 30. The Attorney says I should be in the US in 6 months, is this realistic? And is there anything I could be doing to hurry things along? I'm not with an agency and the Attorney has been retained by my sponsoring hospital, so I know she is working for them and not me, this is why I don't expect her to be at my 'beck & call' as it's not me who's paying her. So........how long for me now do you think?

My attorney said 9-12 months.
But really,.... nobody knows.
And you can't do anything "to hurry things":)

The dates are not truly accurate. Vermont is listing July as the cuurent daye, and there are some nurses that have had Aug and Sept dates that have gooten approval.
The other thing that you have in your favor is that you are in the UK, they operatre on their on own schedule there.
6 months could actually be a realistic time for you.

I know of a couple of people who once had approval was out in the US within 6 months and that is what I am looking at with mine once get approval as I need to give 3 months notice with my employer this is due to working in the community and recruitment. The good thing is my employers have been quiet good about me leaving and aware that once I get approval things will move a bit quicker
