How long does it take to process before start date?

I am being impatient! I know this, but just wondering what you guys have to say before I call them

I was interviewed last week, "hired" on wed this week, and filled out the remainder of paperwork, drug screen ect. However I have no idea when they will call me. I never want to count on a job until they say "hey come to work on said day" So my question is should I wait until Monday to call and ask about progress? how long does it usually take to "process" in LTC?

I am just anxious because this job requires me to get a babysitter for after hours for certain days and she requires at least a days notice. Not to mention that I have 2 other places that want to interview me and I don't know what to do! Thanks :)

hahah...if it was my place, they would have tried to have you start that day! I would call today, Friday and just ask.

If I lived close I'd drop by and ask for my schedule. People get busy and even answering the phone can be a chore.

Just to let you know - HR/personnel staff ARE dependent upon OTHERS at the other end of their phone calls/emailsand other inquiries (ie BONs, old employers, references, schools, etc) to complete your paperwork. They can't shake them any faster to respond just because you're anxious.

Touch back with the facility but just don't make a noodge out of yourself - wrong way to start a job even befor you start.
