How to interpret job postings?????

Hi - I'm not an RN yet but I'm looking at job postings and I'm trying to understand what this means:

20 hours per week

Evenings - 8 hour shifts

Includes every other weekend

How does this work? Does it mean I'd work both Saturday and Sunday on one weekend and then not work the next and then work 2 week days one week and 3 the next?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give! :)

You would work 20 hours per week and the week usually runs Monday through Sunday. The 20 hours could be scattered in different patterns. And yes, you would work every other weekend, that's standard in hospitals. And the 20 hours a week is the minimum that you are guaranteed, you could work more than that if you're willing.

Agree with the info Tazzi provided. This is a part-time position. 8-hr. evening shifts are going to be 3-11pm or some close variation on that. They're probably shooting for 2 days one week, 3 days the next to balance out to 40 hrs per 2-week pay period.
