How was everybody's first day of class (Aug 26th)?

Published

I know that majority of us started on Aug 26th for the fall semester. Hope everybody had a great day, and are less nervous and now ready to focus on getting that grade A. My day in A&P was good. However, already got a quiz on Wednesday. Little nervous but i'll do fine. Good luck for the fall semester everyone.

Going through the first day made me realize that getting an A is definitely achievable. I really like my instructor, and honestly there's just no reason I shouldn't get an A.

I was kinda sad we don't get access to the cadavers like the other instructor. But oh well.

Reading through the syllabus for my A&P I class, I thought my instructor to be intimidating and hard on the class. He had no reviews on ratemyprofessor.com (new guy perhaps?), but I signed up for classes late, so I had to go with him. To my surprise, he's actually a pretty cool guy, so I had a pretty enjoyable first day!

Well I started tonight and had Anatomy lecture. I'm torn... I was expecting much worse, but then again it's only the first class and it's only going to get harder from here. After 3 hours of lecture, 2 chapters and 8 pages of notes my brain feels like goop and it might just fall out of my ears tonight. On the plus side, my professor tries to keep it interesting and we had a few good laughs in between the important stuff. Now I must go drink some more coffee, rewrite my notes, and shove cotton balls in my ears to keep my brain from falling out.

Lol hang in there, the A&P will get tougher but we are going to be fine. Hard work, study hard pays off. Good luck.

I was singled out in class as being the only one who completed the online assignment before the first day of class.

Showing up to class early means your on time.

Pop quiz the first day... Ouch.

My professors motto: Study smart, not hard.

Tomorrow will end my first 2 weeks of school. Overall I would say that my A&P class will be very interesting. The first lab was about directional terms, anatomical position & regional terms. My professor uses power points that are available prior to class. We had a pop quiz on last thursday just a see what you know kinda quiz. For the first 3 week we will be go over chapter 1-3 which is the entire general biology course. I would definitely say if you didn't get a good foundation use this time very wisely or else you will have trouble understand the next chapter. Its all about build on what you learned from the previous chapters. One more thing I would suggest that you start using and learning body parts and regions because you will be using it the rest of the semester and throughout these next few prereqs that we have.

I had a good first week actually. It's always intimidating getting the syllabus and seeing test dates though. A 13 page HW assignment due in a week instantly made me miss summer but my professors make me feel like I'll do fine.

I believe the first week or two are most intimidating being in a class because of receiving the syllabus and seeing all those tests and assignments, and trying to figure out the professor. Hang in there everyone, focus and study hard. Good luck

My first week, i had a quiz on directional terms and planes. To be honest i knew the terms etc, but i think i panicked a little bit so might not of done well on the first quiz. I don't know, i seem to alway's panic on the first quiz, and then after, i settle down and do way much better. SMH i'll be fine though.

My first day was last week also. I am really excited about my nursing fundamentals class. It's really hands-on and I am ready to get into it!
