How is your bridge program?

I started my LPN_RN(ADN) Bride program March 26. The first semster is online and very disorganized. Some of my classmates are not doing well on tests. Think 40 questions 40 minutes. Material is taken from 3 different books sometimes. Also the tests are not always put up on time. Basically all self teaching because we are LPNs. I am hoping future classes will be better when we are sitting in front of a teacher.

Yes have the same, my programs is very disorganized and I live 1.5 hours away from my school( I commute from the city to a small town) so lord knows where I will end up doing a preceptorship or clincals( i lived in a hotel for 6 weeks last semester). I will just be happy to get this over with and on to BSN school :)!

r u guys all in community colleges lvn to rn program? anyone in lvn to rn program in orange county?

Yes CC here too. Not in Orange County.. Sorry

Are you looking into one?

I just finished my finals on Friday and got one more semester to go. So far I'm not too impressed with my LPN-RN program at OU. During this last semester they told us we weren't doing any preceptorships for our final semester because they couldn't find enough preceptors. Instead were doing regular clinicals with fewer students per clinical instructor. I was looking forward to preceptorship because it gives me real world experience. Also the switch from quarters to semesters has caused many problems including disorganization, broken promises, and last minute changes.

I'm sorry to hear that but I'm in the same boat. This semester I was not a huge fan of the program and can only hope next semester is better. We also get the cancellations or broken promises and when we express our concern we're told 'welcome to the world of nursing where things never go as planned' ..lol. For example, we had a pharm final on Wed and were told tests scores would be released early Thu to only be told 'ops, faculty decided to hold all grades until all finals are finalized!' Arg.. I have theory on Mon so I wait until after then...

Praise the lord I only have class on Mondays from 9-4ish.. I have clinicals Tue-Thurs. This pass semester I was first up and my clincals were back to back for 3 sets of 36 hour rotations. I hope its the same way this semester. Yes I work Weekend Baylor that consists of 3 days so Sat-Sun-Tues. I have had to use a lot of my vacation time or switch a day when I don't have clincals.

You have a full schedule my friend! I'm in a hybrid class so the majority is online and self learning and testing is done on campus. We only have two clinical days though? 3-11 shift on Mon & Tues. it's so much reading and studying... I'm even studying for my final on Mon :) okay, I should be studying..lol

I just finished my bridge program :)! WooHoo!!

Me too prettymica! So, soo, sooooo glad its over. Now, onto NCLEX prep class....just want to take the darn NCLEX and be done with the whole affair. I'm actually glad I took the NCLEX-PN, I know what we are in for. I think when going to take the NCLEX-PN, the fear of the unknown (how the NCLEX would be) just produced way more anxiety that it really called for. Now, going into the NCLEX-RN, I still have a little anxiety but not even close to the amount I had before.

I feel bad for the ones who've never had the pleasure (rolling eyes, voice dripping in sarcasm) of experiencing that lovely test. The don't know what they don't know. :)
