How to apply for CGFNS??

Hi Nurses! I am an RN from Philippines but I am now here in Nebraska..
I am having a hard time to apply for the CGFNS.
It says there that the school where you from should be the one to send the Academic records/transcripts and license/registration/diploma to CGFNS.
How should I send my those forms to my school? Is it okay to send it via email? Or it should be printed already?
So what should I do first? Should I contact my school and wait until they process those documents or should I fill up and finish first the application forms for applying for the CGFNS?

It is stated that you need to send the request for academic records to your school, and your school should fill out the form, and send it DIRECTLY to CGFNS along with your TOR (and whatever documents they are requesting). You have to print it because you need to fill out some info on the top page of the request form. (Unless your school is okay with sending a scanned copy of the form, which most school would not).

You can do most of the process simultaneously. You can lodge your application to CGFNS (which you can do online) and at the same time satisfy the requirements for PRC and your school. Coz you have a year to complete the application anyway.

are you applying for eligibility in nebraska? verify from your state's bon if you need to take the cgfns exam or you need only your credentials evaluated because sometimes the information from other blogs would be misleading you. http://www.hhs.state.ne.us/crl/nursing/foreign.htm

if cgfns credential evaluation is required, you need to do the following.

1.) create you cgfns account by signing up to http://www.cgfns.org, for free. then, read about the information regarding this via http://cgfns.org/sections/programs/ces/.

2.) submit your order for credentials evaluation services. pay $330 via credit card. this service is good for one year till you complete the endorsement of your papers from the school where you obtained your degree and prc for licensing evaluation.

3.) download the forms at http://cgfns.org/sections/apply/forms.shtml. fill them out.

3.1 request for academic records / transcripts form

3.2 request for validation of license/registration/diploma form

3.3 photo identification form

4.) send the forms to the philippines, and authorize someone to process it for you.

do not forget to make an authorization letter:o

** school

- request for academic records / transcripts form

- authorization letter

- pay tor/certification/diploma fee

- pay courier fee ( school will endorse this form together with your tor/certificates/diploma to cgfns)

**prc

-request for validation of license/registration/diploma form

-authorization letter

-valid prc license

- pay processing fee

-certification fee

- pay courier fee ( prc will endorse this form together with your certification that you passed the pnle to cgfns)

5.) from time to time, check your cgfns account to follow up the status if they already received the papers forwarded from your school and prc. cgfns credential evaluation service is valid for 1 yr. make sure to process it right away after you paid

the service order online.

6.) as soon as cgfns is done evaluating your papers, they will send you a cgfns certificate then you submit that to nebraska bon together with your other requirements.

i was also struggling with this stuff before. glad i am halfway done with this cgfns matter. i hope this will enlighten you. if you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi guys I'm a Filipina from NE too :) I applied in CA BON last Jan. 2011 but end up applying for CGFNS Certification Program here in NE. CA BON required me so many documents that are impossible to provide so I gave up and start over again in CGFNS. I hope you could email me pinx23 and share your experience with me... Hello. May I please know if you were required by CGFNS to submit a copy of your College Nursing Diploma? It would take a little while for my school to release diplomas. So I don't know if I should go on already with the CGFNS application without my nursing diploma yet. Thank you, thank you for any response :)
