How is A&P 2 different from A&P1?

My best advice is study everyday like the test is tomorrow. There is a lot to learn, or should I say memorize, in AP II. There is also more physiology, i.e. learning how the heart works and why. I am taking AP II this summer and only have a few weeks left, so it is a lot to commit to memory in a condensed session.

Do the blunt of the work at the beginning of each chapter. Create a list of questions from the study guides and book that you bought, and then answer them once a day afterwards.

I’m currently taking A&PII (summer) course...and I think b/c of it being in the summer, it seems a lot harder. Did I say ALOT harder :) It is definitely taking a bit more organizational skills and studying to tackle this one. But the structural differences in the courses, I’ve noticed...A&PI deals with the back bone of anatomy...bones, formation, joints (more internal aspect). A&PII gets a little more fun b/c you’re learning about the actual organs and their functions (& hormones). There were a lot more diagrams in I than in II. If you study & stay organized...you will be fine!! I wouldn’t worry too much! Good Luck though

A&p 2 definitely has more physiology, but I liked it more than a&p1! You're putting the body together and really get to see how all the systems effect one another.. When it came to EKG and Glomerular filtration YouTube has great videos that break it down. I found the renal system to be a challenge. If you aced a&p 1 I'm sure you'll do well in 2! Just stay ahead and study and good luck(-:

Thank you everyone, I actually started A&P2 today. I am semi worried since this is the first time for my professor teaching lecture. O.o I'm remembering it is only 5 weeks. I have made tables of all the different hormones, pituitary stuff, and other organs to help me stay organized.

It just depends on your school. In my schools, A&P I is the molecular level, cellular respiration, tissues, integumentary system, skeletal system, muscle system, some of the cardiac system, and reproductive system. A&P II is the nervous system (about half the semester is spent here), more cardiac system, digestive system, lymphatic system, and anything I left out. For both courses, our lecture was pure physiology and lab was pure anatomy.

However, at the local community college, A&P I goes into each system a little. Then, in A&P II, they go deeper into a select few systems.

I have just about every good supplement book for A&P. I received an A in A&P1, just trying to see if anyone studied differently for the two classes at all.

I got a B in A&P I and an A in A&P II, BUT I thought 232 was harder! So I made sure to study everyday. There is much more physiology. I bought a small whiteboard and wrote and rewrote diagrams of everything. I made up mnemonics for the different hormones. The immune system was particularly tricky for me, so I looked up tons of videos on YouTube! Good luck!

Like the previous posts, A&P II is much more physiology and they want you to know why things are the way they are. I study a lot every day, even weekends, no exceptions. I am not sure if "harder" is the right word, but it just takes more time to learn the parts of the systems and then add on the specific ways everything works. Write note cards, read each chapter twice (once for the big picture and a second time for the specifics). Maybe it seems harder than A&P I since I am taking it in the summer, but I love this class and am really enjoying learning about the body systems!
