Curious as to how most agencies manage their full time staff. do you have to return to the office before and/or after seeing your patients, or do you go home when finished with your daily route?
if your employer expects you to come to the office at the end of the day, are you expected to answer phones and handle other issues not related to your daily visits? and do they expect this of hourly staff only, or per visit also?

per visit, get to go home after all patients are seen. patients are assigned electronically so actually unless a clinician is picking up supplies, paperwork, etc then they do not have to come to the office at all.

I am salary and only go to the office weekly for a meeting. I use that day to get anything else I may need to get through the week.

We have to go in in the morning, but we get to go home after seeing all of our patients.

We have paper charting still (going electronic after state audit this year) so we all come in in the morning to get our assignments and charts. Sometimes a nurse will know she is seeing a patient early (like a lab draw, IV, etc.) and will see the patient on their way to the office from home. Some nurses who live a ways away and have patients along their way home end their day at home to finish charting. I live just a few miles from the office so I start my day far away and work my way back and end in the office again. We do have a rule to bring charts back the same day or next day in case they are needed.
