Considering majority of RN's from SE Asia opt to take the NCLEX in HK, (they dont need a visa to get into unlike the Japan, Taiwan, S. Korea or Guam centers), i was hoping we could get a grasp of just how bad the testing backlog is over there...some say 2 mos, but im asking anybody who's had experience trying to sked an exam at HK...pls post when you called to sked and when the earliest available date was or will be...thanks!
Oh...and for the other testing centers...feel free to just share info on them as well.

i registered at pearsonvue last april 28,2006.. that time the earliest available appointment for nclex-rn was july 17... but be vigilant to check the available schedule at the website coz there may be earlier dates that may become available.. maybe it's because some test takers reschedule their appointments... just be vigilant in checking the schedule on the site:lol2::balloons:... goodluck..

Yes, that is true. Some applicants are smart and follow what is said by the pearsonvue handbook that they should book an appointment as soon as possible even though they don't have intentions to really take it at that particular date. This is to make sure that you have a sure slot and just resched as time goes by. This is a very good suggestion.
From my own exp. slots will open up as it gets near and they open up in batches, sometimes the whole 1-2 weeks is suddenly open. So, yes be vigilant just like what Kathy said.

Most of you are forgetting about Saipan, you can get a special three day visa for there. And they do not have the backlog.
yeah but it costs a bit more to go to saipan...
But if it saves you a couple of months?
There are always going to be cancellations in HK, you just need to keep checking.
