Hired!

After a whirlwind application process -- I applied online Tuesday night, got called on Wed to schedule an interview, interviewed Thursday and was hired on the spot! -- I had my first day of orientation today. It's a fairly new (2 years old) LTC facility and it is sooooo nice! It's a family-owned organization and my facility is their 15th one. Pay is more than I was expecting (I wasn't expecting much but it's better than I thought LOL) and their CNA to patient ratio is higher than average. So far, everyone has been pleasant and helpful. I'm looking forward to getting on the floor and meeting the residents and staff.

There are usually plenty of "I hate my job/facility/co-workers" posts; I wanted to share something happy.:D

Congratulations! Hopefully it stays that way (:

That's great! I feel the same way about my second (per diem) job. After working in a facility that I hated for years, it was a shock to work in a place where people are chill and supervisors aren't jumping down your throat about everything.

Congrats! There are some great LTC facilities out there, you just have to look for them :)

Congrats! :bow::yelclap::cheers:

Totally jealous right now, haha!

That's awesome! Congrats!

So far, so good! Today is my 4th and final day of orientation on the floor; next shift I'm on my own. I've already picked out a few toxic CNAs (if they talk TO you about other CNAs, you know they'll talk ABOUT you to other CNAs!) but all the others have been friendly and helpful to me. I've enjoyed getting to know my residents--there is SOOOO much to know about them!
