HIPAA

Hi,

I was going to make a h visit for a med set up and have vestibular problems that cropped up. Is it a HIPAA violation to have someone drive you to that visit? Thank you

No HIPAA violation as long as no discussion of patient care needs ensued.  My former employer had a few nurses who's husband drove them to patients home for visit as fear driving post accident, shared one car, new to area and fearful of our major highways, etc.  Could be dropped off few homes away from actual address  if concerns. Getting visit made much more important in hierarchy of home health HIPAA concerns.
