I have learned a lot on this site, everyone is so informative!

I just learned what to expect when I begin my clinicals, but what I want to know is... what would you have done differently on your (nursing school) clinicals now that you have more experience?

Would not have been afraid to ask more questions.

Specializes in ICU, PACU, Cath Lab.

Been more assertive from day one..it took me a while to jump in and just do anything I could get my hands on...I was so nervous.

Would have paid more attention to how the nurses were handling their patients, as opposed to making sure to do everything only as my instructor had taught. Not contradict what we were taught, but would have been more observant of the "real world" of nursing so that I could ask the instructor about doing things that way as well.

It's good to learn there's more than one way to skin a cat, so to speak ;)

Would have requested that rumored to be "hard" clinical instructor...the folks in her clinical group seemed to have learned the most!

Specializes in Behavioral Health, Show Biz.
Would not have been afraid to ask more questions.
