hi i am about to apply to uni to study for my nursing degree, i am at the moment on a access to nursing course. I eventually want to specialise as a childrens nurse as this area has the most interest for me is their any one on the course that is also doing the children's nursing that can give me any advice? i am hoping to go to salford or the manchester area universities any help and advice would be great, thanks marie :)

I don't know about being anRN in the UK. But as a new grad ADN I was able to start out in PEds at a large chlidren
s hospital. So the jobs are out thier. Just tryt o get a childrens hospital, or a peds unit :) HTH :)

The UK actually requires you to become a specialist in Peds while you are in school, if that is the area that you wish to work in. Completely oppositerothe US where you do a "general" program, then you decide what area that you would like to specialize in when you graduate.
How far along are you with your studies? And I forgot to add:

im a paeds nurse and qualified in march 2003 in the Midlands. im currently doing the specialist community public health practitioners degree (health visiitors course). if you need any help or advice feel free to contact me
