Hello everyone...I'm a nurse student at a Catholic school and looking for Hesi advise. Took it for the first time failed and did some Kaplan practice questions and nclex-4000 as well. I'm a bit discouraged, so looking for some words of wisdom and if there's any info or material I can purchase.

Hopefully the admins will move this to the nursing school forum (rather than school nurse) for more replies. I will say that HESI is all about practice, practice, practice. That's how I survived when I had to do HESI.. I actually did much better on my HESIs than I did regular exams. .
What type of material s did you practice from?

Thread moved to HESI forum.
I used the official HESI prep guide (big yellow book) that came with software. I just did all the practice questions on the CD. Read all the rationales for all the questions.. you learn more from the whys and why nots of the rationales than anything else.
This is all so helpful..I have to re-take my hesi fundamentals in the spring, cause I did not pass Hesi the first time. In the mean time I will practice..really appreciate. Is there a specific edition to this book?

I used Elsevier adaptive quizzing throughout school and really liked it. You could customize the quizzes to whatever subject or concept you wanted. Make sure to read the rationales. It felt like a game because you wanted to level up in all the categories. The HESI exams seemed to be at Level 2, so I aimed to at least get to Level 3 if I couldn't master it in time. $99 for three years access.
I also had the HESI NCLEX RN Review book. The book itself is overly abbreviated, but the purple key points almost always popped up on the HESI exams.
I took 1-2 HESI subject exams each semester and the comprehensive in the last semester.
Thanks...this site is really good.
