Heparin

Please help,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to inject a heparin injection in a very very thin person that has little to no sub Q fat, minimizing the pain?

Thanks

I've been told the abdomen is the least painful area, given that it has fewer nerve endings than other locations for sub-q.

Even if they are very thin the needle should be short enough that if you give it in the abdomen you should still be SQ

That is one SQ injection I hate doing on little old skinny people but it does get easier with practice. After my first couple of attempts I asked an experienced nurse to show me how she does it and that helped. The way she did it was to sort of "wiggle" it in, very gently.
