help withnyclex question

Hi,

I have a couple of questions and am hoping for some help. I take my LPN boards in several weeks and I am pretty nervous. Someone told me there are little tricks you can use in your head that will help you better to answer questions. but I am unclear what they mean. For instance I have heard from several people there are a ton of prioritizing your patient questions. For instance, what patient would you treat first. Does anyone know of a good way to help remember this ? I was told the best way was to go by: airway, breathing, circulation and pain. I have also been told there are a ton of meds and many times it may be ones you have never seen before. What do you do in that instance?

Read for context, and pay attention to the suffix. olol = beta blocker, pril = ACE inhibitor, fl/oxacin = fluoroquinolone antibiotics, etc.

Hi Jean. I moved your thread to the NCLEX Discussion Forum so that you continue to get good responses. Good luck!

That's what I did everytime i answered a question on the NCLEX..I would say to myself airway, breathing, circulation. I would also say assess before action. I used those cues in every question I answered, don't forget safety first. I had lots of select all that applies questions and I know that I guess on all of them. Remember your priorities and you should do fine.
