Can anyone share with me some tips about the test or anything to calm me down. I take the test in 3 days, and can't stop thinking about it. I've been doing questions for about 2 1/2 weeks now. Think I should stop or keep doing questions and any other advice?
Thanks, Jimmy

I just took NCLEX on 06/29/06 and the three days before the exam I studied like crazy! None of that info was on the exam. I don't know what to tell you. The night before the exam I was doing a bunch of questions and doing pretty crappy, I think I overstudied at that point. I stopped around 8pm the night before and I think I stressed myself out! Just try to review what you think you'll be able to remember and what you'll need. Review the basic things like Mazlow's hierarchy of needs, Erikson's stages of development, ABC's, and infection control. I am sure you'll do great! Let us know! Good luck to you!!!!

Good Luck on your test, I took mine yesterday and shut off at 75.
Know the basics!! Maslow, ABC's, infection control, that's what is the basis of safe nursing care.
It wouldn't hurt to page through the fundamentals book.
Let us know how you made out!

Good luck on your NCLEX, Jimmy! I also take mine tomorrow, and the only advise I can offer you is that your professors were confident enough in you to let you pass nursing school. If you could pass nursing school, then you will do fine with the NCLEX. Your professors would not have let you pass if the did not feel that you would do fine on the test. You will do well, and as of today there is nothing else you can do to prepare youself. I am not doing anything test related today, except finding my testing center! I am running errands and going to rent a movie for tonight. I'm going to go to bed early so that I can get a good night's sleep, and be well rested for tomorrow. Good luck on your test tomorrow! You will do great!

I am taking my test tommorrow. Good advice everyone. It is hard to know how to prepare but brushing up on you test taking statagies surely will help. I plan to take a hike and get some oxygen to my brain. Bring hydration, chew gum, and a snack for brain food. I found their came a point when test questions were just getting mixed in my head. Time to clear out the cobwebs and get some good exersize and enjoy the beautiful mountains of the pacific northwest. Good luck on Friday.

I took my NCLEX-PN today and it shut off at 85 (minimum questions). I did about 2000 questions when studying for this test and I don't feel it helped a great deal. You just don't know what to expect. I came out of there not knowing how I did (the normal feelings) so I will have to wait and see. Good luck on your test!!

I took mine today and the best advice I can give anyone is just breathe. Yesterday I started to try to calm myself down with keeping myself busy. I studied very lightly just trying to firm up a few things in my mind. I got there early and once went over a few note cards. I really studied endocrine, fluid/electrolytes, lab values, renal and there were very few of those questions on my NCLEX. You really have to know everything about everything - well at least the basics of everything. A lot of priority questions and medication questions (good/bad side effects, food interactions, etc).
I wish everyone luck!
