Help

Hello, I was in a LPN course. I was suppose to graduate. I passed my green light test and 1 week before graduation grades were finalized and I failed Peds with a 74.7 When attempting to retake Peds the school put me on a contract academic, stating o could not fail, miss class or arrive late. I had car problems causing me to show up to class 10 minutes late. The school dismissed me. The school now has a new curriculum so if I go back it will take me 4 more semesters to graduate. Am able to challenge the LPN NCLEX in any state? I live in Florida. I have all my credits except Peds. Please help with advice on what I should do. I have attached my unofficial transcript so you guys could see more of what I was trying to say.

As far as I know, you cannot take the NCLEX in any state until they receive the ATT (authority to test) from your school, showing that you've graduated. If you haven't graduated, they will not send the ATT to the BON.

Thank you for taking the time out to respond.

Have you talked to the school about repeating the Peds class in order to finish your degree. Most schools will implement a change to the program and it will effect the first semester students. Students currently in the old program continue in that program until they graduate. You may not be subject to the new program if you have the ability to repeat the Peds class. Most schools allow you to repeat one nursing class. If you fail a second nursing class, you are dismissed from the program. You need to ask the school what are your options.

Was missing class, arriving late already a problem? May be drafting a sincere letter about how you will solve any late arrival or missing a class (childcare in place with an alternate childcare plan if the first cannot work for a day) might help. I apologize if the missing class/late arrival was never a problem. If that is the case, you could try writing a letter about how you have persevered to meet your goal of becoming an LPN. How you met difficulties but worked around them, citing your grades etc. Your grades show something happened during that last class...can you explain what happened to your ability to study/take tests etc? I wish you the best of luck. you have shown you can handle tough material.
