I can't even breathe. I'm so upset. I was pregnant while studying for my NCLEX the first time. I studied for a month. My baby came 2 weeks early. And instead of doing the smart thing and rescheduling, I took the NCLEX 4 days after giving birth. I got all 265 Q's. Got the last question wrong, and failed.
Mi did my best to study with a new baby, but it was so hard. I just retook the exam this morning. I took my time and felt good about most of the Q's. It shut off at 75 Q's and I was shocked. I expected to sit the whole 6 hours again. I felt okay, and had a good feeling I passed. I looked up info and saw the Pearson Vue Trick. I'd never heard of it. I used the trick 6 hours after taking my exam... And it took my payment... Which according to the trick means I failed.
i feel sick. I'm the only student in my class that failed it... And now a seconds time? I had a job lined up, and now I have to give it up. I can't even cry I'm so sad. I kept looking up the possibility the PVT is wrong... all threads says there is no way.
has anyone else had this happen? I don't know where to go from here

There is a possibility you got a false negative as the test is scored twice in the first 24 hours, your second score may be a pass. You did the test only 6 hours after completing the exam and are about 18 hours earlier than the recommended time. The$200 is non refundable if you did pass. Those who had a "false fail" result nearly all did the registration glitch trick less than 24 hours after completing the exam. There are no guarantees with the registration glitch aka Pearson Vue trick.
Does your state participate in quick results? That would be an accurate determination of pass/fail.

Agreed with above poster.. all of the threads I have read here have cautioned us against doing the PVT less than 24hours after taking the exam, as this could result in the loss of $200..
Well wishes.. I hope you truly did pass!!!
I live in Montana. They do have quick results. That is how I found out my status after the first exam.
Unfortunately I used the PVT before I read you had to wait 24 hours. I didn't have any questions that would need to be rescored? And if I did, what type of question would this be? I only had one math question... Very easy. And I know for sure my last question was right. I looked it up online later.
But in all honesty, aren't chances very slim I passed? If I only had one EKG question, 4 SATA, one math, 3 drag and drop, and the rest priority?
Honestly, if I passed and it took my money for not doing more research I'd be fine with that! But I did it 6 hours after my test. Is there a thread with a specific example of someone who has ever done this?
Every single exam is rescored within 24 hours. The first score is completed as you test, the second QC score is completed within 24 hours. Not just "certain" questions. Whether you get the last question right does not determine pass or fail. That is an urban legend.
Once the second QC score is done your results are released to the board of nursing, hence why some states have results posted within 24-36 hours prior to quick results.
As far as the frequency of a test that "converts" to a pass once the second QC score is complete, impossible to say. The results are anecdotal and many do not post in the forum for a variety of reasons. I've seen posts and statements both ways ("trick" gave the "good pop up" but quick results or BoN states failed AND "trick" was "bad pop up" and charged $200 but BoN/QR state pass). So yes, there is at least a small chance you passed but no guarantee either way.
There is nothing you can do now until your BoN posts results or quick results are available.
The types of questions do not indicate pass or fail. I had around 3 SATA, one complicated med calc, and a few other alternate format and passed in minimum questions in around 25 minutes. All question types have higher and lower level cognitive versions. Unless an educational professional that is an expert in Bloom's taxonomy it is impossible to guess the cognitive level of a question.

This is partially correct. There's only one situation where your final question determines pass/fail. The question before the final question is the one that mostly sets your chance of pass/fail in that situation. It's a very, very specific situation and that is when you reach the maximum number of questions on the NCLEX. It can't look back at your previous 60 questions because you're not at the 95% confidence interval to determine pass/fail over the past 60 questions. If this was the case, the computer would have shut off. Therefore it has to look at the last question only and what level of question it is. Maybe it considers whether or not you answered the question correctly or not, maybe it considers whether the next question it would have asked would also be above/at/below passing standard.
In any event, it's a very specific rule.
If the exam shuts off right at minimum, you were clearly a pass or clearly a fail. If it goes even 1 question beyond that, you were too close to the pass/fail line to clearly determine the result at the minimum. One question past the minimum to one question before maximum all mean the very same thing. You were close enough to the pass/fail line that the system couldn't determine with a 95% confidence over the past 60 questions that you would pass or fail the exam.

I heard even if you were suppose to get the good/passing pop up but you used a card with 200 dollars on it, it would still take your money. That's why you're suppose to use a card without the available funds:

If you didn't submit financial info, you didn't actually do the trick. Everyone who plays with the PVT is brought to a screen at which they can submit card information. Doesn't mean you failed, means it wants your $ for making a new registration (which is, essentially, what you ARE doing).
Not exactly. If you did the PVT incorrectly (as so many, if not most, do) then you'd find yourself out of money NOT because it was a valid card and it "took it anyway", but because you'd have done it wrong and offered it funds and you shouldn't have.
This is why we keep telling people to wait at least 24 hours, until the exam has been scored TWICE, to prevent people ponying up $$ for a test they don't need.
But people let anxiety get the best of them and just can't seem to stop pushing buttons on their phone....which is too bad, since they are only making the situation worse, really!
