The tuition at West Coast Univ. is in the $132,000 range, which is rather steep. Let's crunch the numbers to give you a better idea of what you'd be getting yourself into.
If you obtain a $132,000 student loan at 6.875% interest for a ten year term, your repayment would be a whopping $1524.14 per month. This large monthly student loan payment does not leave much room for other bills such as a mortgage, rent, car payment, utilities, food, gas, maintenance, entertainment, and extras. Also, if you're not married, this staggering amount of debt might scare away potential mates.
A good rule of thumb is to never borrow more money than you can reasonably earn in a year. Since the nursing job market in California is slumping badly, most new nurses are not even earning that kind of money. Heck, many new RNs in CA cannot find employment right now.

I agree - that's pretty pricey.

MSMC has an excellent reputation as a nursing school and has had that reputation for years. The other school does not have the same, and for $132,000, I would want a school to have a good name and to be known for providing a good, quality education and then some. WCU does not live up to those expectations, from reading the majority of the posts about it here. I would, hands down, choose MSMC. JMO
i really like msmc also but i havent finished some generals i decided to go back to a cc & finish up i wish i can start msmc without generals i dont want to transfer
people tell me it's real hard to get into msmc ..there's a waiting list for the school which doesn't sound too fun =[

there's a waiting list for most schools. Even the trade schools such as west coast you are waiting around for a bit.
It's probably more fun to be waiting around and have a job to save some money up, than to have 1500/month loan payments to pay back the student loans.
The economy is horrible, there are few jobs presently available for new graduate nurses, so the "quicker/expensive" program does not guarantee a job. I would go the community college route, and I attended an expensive trade school. I was lucky to find a job, but most I know currently aren't.
