I've been here in Fl for 4 months. I recently graduated nursing in the Philippines and passed my local board exam there. Now I apply my NCLEX in California for I believe if I passed the exam there's a lot of state that offers reciprocity if you passed California NCLEX. The question is, can endorse my Ca nursing license here in Florida without working experience in Ca?

Dec 11, 2008 Moved to the International forumNot sure why you have applied to Ca when living in Florida as you will still need to meet Florida foreign nurse requirements which is CES. Also we have had members report that they was unable to endorse to Florida from another state without any nursing experience in that state, there is also something written on Florida BON website regarding this. You are better applying straight to Florida if that is where you are planning on working. Be aware unless you have a SSN Ca will not issue a license and therefore can not endorseI would suggest a good read in this forum

And I believe that if you passed Ca NCLEX there are a lot of state wherein they have recirpocity. I have SSN Fl. thank you

Florida has been strict with this rule this year as we have seen by a few members posting having problems endorsing because they have not worked as a nurse in the state they received their license. Will still be expensive because you still need to meet Florida requirements which includes CES for foreign trained nurse. I think you are going to find going this route is going to cost you more and end result may mean you can not work in Florida for a few years

Dec 12, 2008 There is no such thing as reciprocity for license, only for NCLEX. ie. you don't have to take the exam again. As stated above, it's no cheaper doing it this way because now you have to pay licensure fees to both CA and FL, as well as still following the process required for FL.
