help please

Hi Everybody,

I am new to this forum, I am a RN based in India, I have got my CGFNS certificate and want to apply for licensure in California. I have some doubts about the procedure:

I am planning to appear and pass the NCLEX-RN exam in India itself, so then would i need an interim permit?

In case I dont need the interim permit does it mean that I would not be requiring TOEFL scores too?

I had cleared IELTS as a part of the CGFNS Certification process, will this score be considered equivalent to TOEFL score required by the CA BRN?

I am really hoping someone can help me.

This is a link to the home page of the California Board of Registered Nursing

You should get in contact with them about your questions.

Even if you wish to work in CA, do not go for intiial licenure here. It will take you months and months. Nothing will be finished before the end of this year.

Interom permit is useless for you. Very few facilities in CA will employ a foreign nurse that has not taken the NCLEX-RN exam and passed. So the interim permit will not do you any good.

CA actually does not ask for proof of English exams, however, you will need to the full set of either IELTS series or the TOEFL series for immigration purposes.

Please read the stickies at the top of this forum.
