Help with nursing school application!!!

Published

I have just started putting my application into a few RN nursing programs in some colleges in Georgia (Kennesaw,Clayton and Mercer) it seems like it is a difficult process getting into the nursing programs any suggesstions?

Maybe I need to look outside the Atlanta area to increase my chance of getting in early.

Anyone know any colleges that are taking applications and there is no waiting list?

hello and welcome to the site. hope you enjoy your stay.

i say that if it is a possibility to look outside the area go for it and see who calls you first. also, make sure you have all the pre-req's done and write a great essay, resume, letters of recommendation etc....(just cause every school is different and you want to have everything handy). best wishes to you. :)

i appreciate your advice and will increase my chance by doing those things.

Then you are sure to succeed. Have a good day :)

I will be starting in Mercer in August. When I applied to their nursing program, I sent 2 letters of recommendations from my A&P professor and the doctor I currently work for. I also stayed in touch with Ms.Vines, the associate admissions director. I was always calling to check the status of my application. I think my persistence paid off because I did't even have a high GPA~2.75 when I appplied and a 3.0 now. I also had all of my pre-reqs completed already. Show them that you really want it !!!

I would recommend applying everywhere to assure a spot. I applied to 4 schools cause I wanted to assure a spot and even though it was timeconsuming (transcripts, essays etc) and expensive (application fees) the end result was some schools are too far, some are too expensive, and some put you on a waiting list so better safe than sorry! Also, each school differs in their pre-reqs a little, some require Chemistry, some require 2 chemistry etc........so make sure you got the pre-reqs taken care of for your first choice. Good luck :)
