1) can i start my studies on h4 visa??? or do i need to change on student visa as per my knowledge..i can study but i cant work in h4 visa but do i need my ssn no for doin my nursing course? you can study on a h4 but you can not work. do not need ssn for nurse training

2) do i need to do lpn course 1st to do rn or i can directly go for rn?? you can go direct to rn

currently you can not work once you have completed your studies. retrogression has been ongoing since 2006 and coming from india is even harder for you as the queue is much longer. training in the us will make no difference the only option is your spouse on the h1 is able to file for gc through employer but even then at the moment can not file i485 which will allow you to work. you may find it easier looking for a employer yourself on h1b in microbiology if planning to work but as a rn you will find it next to impossible. now things may change between now and you qualifying but i doubt it will change much due to the high demand on work visas

It is not going to be possible for you to work in the US as an RN, the visas for those from your country are actually retrogressed back about 6 years right now. And we do not expect things to move forward. Chances are that your spouse will have their H1-B visa expired before things have a chance to open up for you.

You currently have a better chance of getting hired as a micro-biologist with the H1-B yourself, but not as a new grad RN.

I have now one other doubt for my H1 as a microbiologist.... can i file for my H1 on the basis of microbiology ??? as minimum vage pay for H1 is around $ 52,000... but for microbiology jobs there is hardly like $30,000 - $40,000 so i am really in confusion that do u get H1 visa for microbiology??? or there is some apl quota for microbiology where u can get H1 even if u have less pay scale???

If anybody knows about this .....plz reply me as the H1 visa will open next month and i have to make a decision soon

The window of opportunity to submit for the H1-B visa is the first of April. You will be required to have any certifications for the US as well as have a job offer and the application completed and submitted by the immigration attorney then. You only have that one chance for it.

One can get the H1-B for microbiology, but you will need to meet the requirements for the particular job.

thank u suzzane .....I have done my Bachelors in Microbiology and Pg as Diploma in MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN... am i eligible for H1 ??? do u have any idea??

Yes, you are. But you need registration in the US, do you possess that?

You are also going to need a Visa Screen Certificate as well. Doubt if you are going to be able to get that in time to be considered for the H1-B visa at this next go-round. It usually takes about four months to get.

Also not sure of the English requirements that you will need to meet. Would contact the Board that handles registration for med techs and see their requirements. They all need to be completed for you to be submitted by an employer beforehand, and not after.

Thanks for your guidance Suzzane....:bowingpur
