I need some advice. I am a new nurse who took the first nursing job offered to me. During my 3 month stay at the hospital, I had 3 Nurse Managers and 7 preceptors. I began to have anxiety attacks, stomach aches and cried everytime I had to go to work, even on my days off. I was 131 lbs and lost 15. My hair fell out and I was just depressed all the time. I finally quit my job after only 3 months of nursing. I spent a lot of time and money getting my BSN and decided that I can not be a floor nurse. I am scared to go back into a hospital. Because I am new to this field, I wanted to know if anyone can give me any advice on other options that may be available for someone in my situation. I want to be in healthcare but can not do bedside nursing. I was thinking another field of nursing that is not so demanding or administration. But I also have no money to go back to school to get training in another field. Thank you in advance.

Don't give up on a hospital so quickly. Maybe you were just at the wrong one. There are ups and downs everywhere. Many different types of nursing. Try them out....but remember that it will take at least a year...to feel like you know what your doing. I am finally over the first year, feeling a little more confident.

3 months, 3 managers and 7 preceptors, sounds like a recipe for disaster as in being set up to fail.
Regroup, if your gut tells you after two weeks the unit is dysfunctional RUNNNNNN
You just got a bad start it sound like to me.
If you can try again.
