Help!!! Failed Nclex 2nd time.

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone,I've heard so much about this site and read a lot of the posts here about the people who are having difficulties with their studies and even those about the success that these people have, i just wanted to ask some people there who same as me did not pass yet their NCLEX-PN exam, it already took me 2 tries, first of all i took my first in the 2m0nths after i graduated it stop at 115, i took it with alot of anxiety, i can not focus during the exam, well it stop at 115 questions and the result was has not Passed the nclex-pn. Next, i took my 2nd a year after the first one i studied for it and believed that i will Pass on my second attempt but with a surpprise it also came out Failed, ended up with 75 questions but still failed. Its hard to think that all that effort was for nothing. Now I dont know where to start, when, and how because am afraid of failling again, my class mate are now working with their licecse, i dont know next thing to do.I thaugt about Review but there is alot of them i dont kown the good one in other not to waste money. I have Davis Review book, La Charity and Lippincolt, i used them for my second attempt now a friend told me to get this book Incredible made easey 4000 Question i just but it have not start reading it because i dont know where to start. Can anyone please give me some advice on what i should do and things that might help me out on my next try. Thanks, most of the posts i read here are very comforting and i really feel that everyone here understands what the people are going through especially about these NCLEX exams and passing/failing....

the review course that i went through was about 3/4 weeks and it was Virtual ATI. You get a private coach online and you use there testing material for practice. when you get the "greenlight" then youre ready for nclex. the review is hard but it makes nclex look easy. im not sure abt the cost of the program though becaue it was included into my tuition. goodluck. also exam prep from pearson is good. pearson is the testing center from nclex and theyre question are very similiar to nclex. they have 2 versions of the book, exam cram and exam prep which is a more comprehensive version. the book is good reading and the practice test easily compare to nclex.

VATI--virtual ATI

You are not alone. I failed my nclex-rn 2x already too :( ..most horrible days of my life. I feel ashamed coz my friends already has their license as a nurse I am the only one left. at home I am the only one that doesnt have a license.. more intimidating for me knowing at home all of my relatives has RN license they are working already at hospitals kaiser, st. jude etc. and within my peers,it breaks my heart that I am the only one that doesn't have a license as a nurse. It is really frustrating and believe me or not right now my heart is still grieving. I have to blame myself first time I took my exam because I took the exam for granted and didnt review much, 2nd time I took it i had no time for review, always cramming, now I have to set things straight I bought books from BN Saunders 5e, PDA by lacharity, Exam Cram 3rd E & its practice Q&A book, I am on the process of reapplying in the Boards but I already started reading and did assessment test to know where I will start.

Don't Lose hope! , We have to try until we get it.. We all know its hard even if you are a straight A student, that doesnt count to pass the board, we have to try and think better than a straight A student.

I did not have Saunders but i may need to get because everyone has been talking about the book, i have PDA book, Kaplan Strateges Book, and exam cram CD, and 4000 gts. incredible made easy, my problem is to know how to study all this books because i think i tried my best at the second time and am so happy, thinking that is over after i finshed my second attempts, but the result supprised me. i read a post and pple suggesting in reading Kaplain first at least for 3 times make sure you undderstand it, then PDA and then saunder's may be i should do a live reveiew somewhere before i start to study all this books on my own or i dont know.

Thank you Justbeachnurse which one is good VATI or Hurst R. or does any one know a good review down here in the South?

I'm not in the south and I cant really offer advice or opinion on a review sinceI didn't use one. Many like virtual ATI because the mentor/tutor works around your schedule so if you are available at 2AM Tuesdays& Thursdays, you can sit on your computer in your PJ's with you reviewer in the privacy of your own home. One gal barely passed school, had a hard time itch content and the ATI practice subject and content exams during school used vATI and passed first the NCLEX-PN first attempt. Others swear by Hurst or Kaplan classes. I think Kaplan is nationwide. Figure out your learning style then figure out what works best for you.
