What do we do now? What we dont' understand is why we got this approved through NY and not in PA? What do we do now? My wife has a job offer already pending her license and we are not sure what to do now.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Moved to nurse registration

Each US state regulates and licenses the practice of nursing within its geographical boundaries, and each state BON sets its own standards.

She didn't have a problem applying through NY, took her NCLEX and passed the boards already. We're not sure why PA didn't accept her transcript and what else can we do? Her job here in PA is dependent on her getting the license but we're not afraid that she might not get to work here because of this. helpppppppppppppppppp

Specializes in OR, Nursing Professional Development.

Licensure granted in one state doesn't guarantee licensure being granted by another. Each state sets forth the requirements for licensure; while your wife met the requirements in NY, then there must be a different or additional requirement from PA that she doesn't meet. She needs to contact the BON to see what she needs to do to meet their requirements.

Specializes in PACU.

Just because you got approved in one state does not mean that you will be approved in another. Did they mention why the credential was not accepted? PA and NY have different regulations on who they give licenses to.

We have not gotten the mail yet that explains why. It's frustrating coz dealing with cgfns rep is too difficult. They are not helpful at all. They have received everything on the first week but only to be told that the transcript was not accepted is just very frustrating. She already got a job offer and is expected to start soon but if they have to wait for information from the Philippines again then this may take longer. We are not sure if the employer is willing to wait longer, even longer.

It turned out that they still need the transcript from the Philippines. So mad because we asked cgfns when we filled out the application that we didnt need to print out anything and to send to the Philippines. Had we known and told property then this could have been done right away. They provided incorrect information. Now w have to send the letter to her university and then they will need to send this back to Philadelphia. Now is this going to take another 6 weeks?????

CGFNS received the transcript on 6/10. Contacted them and they said that it will take up to 25 business days for them to verify and validate the form that they received. Ughhh....why can't they have more CGFNS other than the one in Philadelphia. They have been dragging their feet regarding this process and every time we contact them, they are NO HELP at all!!!!
