Hello to all

good day to all. i am new here at allnurses and i am hoping that you guys can help me answer a lot of my questions. as you

can see i am from the philippines and i recently passed the nclex and language exam or shall i say, some of the essential

requirements that is needed of a foreign nurse to be able to work legally in the us. i have intentions of working somewhere around the bay area and i was wondering if some of you can tell me what the rates are in there. considering that by the time i'd be hopefully there i only have 2-3 yrs hospital experience. i would like to know these things and more since it would be of great aid in helping me choose the possible agency that i sign up with and would really enlighten me as to the know how's of how things really are in there. your response regarding this matter will be highly appreciated and thank you in advance..god bless to all..

Welcome to Allnurses.com and our International Forum. There is a thread at the top called "The Primer" -- I suggest that you read it as it will answer most of your questions.

One issue that I do see is that there are currently no faciliites directly in the Bay Area for hospital work, that are sponsoring from out of the country.

And even only a couple that will petition if you are already over here. The Bay Area has the highest rate of pay in the US so most are able to fill their positions with American RNs, or those from Canada that can begin work immediately with a NAFTA TN Visa. And for the couple that will sponsor, you need to have significant work history that will require minimal training for you to get started. And working in the Philippines is quite different from working in the US.

If you are willing to travel about 100 miles or so from Sam Francisco, then you will find it much easier to find a place that will petition you.
