Hello I'm New...

Published

Hi! My name is NyRai and I'm from Pa! I new and have lots of questions. I'm a C.N.A.. I 've been working as a CNA for almost a year now and I want to become an LPN. Classes start March 2007 and I have to take the NET test in October 2006. I'm married with 6 children, but my husband is no longer at home..he's living his life as he puts it. SOOO I'm a single mom of 6 working as a CNA and want to start LPN school. I don't know how I'm going to do this but I really want to to do this. I will not have any support, is it possible for someone like me to do this. Is there anyone in my shoes..or know of any info of any kind. ALso I would have to work while I'm going to school. I'm working now on Nightshift.

welcome to allnurses.com!

there are many here who are single parents, and made it through school. perhaps your school has some sort of financial aide available?

when you have a chance, drop by the pa state forum at: https://allnurses.com/forums/f170/ .

suebird :p

i had lots of classmates who were single moms, they went to school in the morning and worked at night, they ALL made it, you can too, it's going to be hard, but it will be worth it, goodluck!

Welcome to Allnurses! I'm 29 too and the mother to four children (10, 6, 3 and newborn), so I know how overwhelmed you might feel.

I live in PA, too. I'm about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh. Where are you? I'm set to start a part time evening/weekend program next March at Lenape in Kittanning. It might take me two years to get my LPN, but I'll still get there:)

It was nice to meet you!
