Hello , I am new and have a few questions . First question : I have been taking a lot of prerequisite because I was not sure either associate degree of Rn or BSN program . I would like to know if I am close to the associate degree because if I am close to getting my associated degree I could Do Rn to Bsn Online . I do not know how to find this information. I would like to know before I decide which school. 2. I really need online classes even for the associate degree from a accredited college with some campus classes . Even if it was an outer state I am wondering could I do clinical in my state and who would know about this . I have some previous license and I love online because I have my parents who has illness and I need to be their mainly at night and some times during the day to help take them to doctors . My parents had been their for me when I was sick in my past with really bad asthma and by the love of god I have been healed . Asthma online acts up sometimes with a post nasal drip ? and my asthma is finally controlled after many years . I can not go to another area for school even though the university I wanted is the top school in the state I could never go and stay on campus knowing they need help . So I need help in other ways I can get my license going and praying more online classes with minimal on campus classes . I love webinar as well and I do not need anyone to tell me I have work to be done . I am very Organized and disciplined . I also will need help with financing . I am looking for grants and scholarships really only because I finally paid off all schools from my past and will not get back into debit . I will pray on this as well . It has been many years trying to achieved this license with many obstacles that has delayed me . I have not given up but I am extremely tired . So , if anyone can help me and direct me so maybe I can cut back on wasting time and go a little quicker I would be grateful for your help . Thank you and god bless you Martina 22

1) It can help to keep a list of programs you are interested in and the required pre-reqs for each program. This can allow you to prioritize the pre-req coursework which is shared between many programs and reduce the number of "extra" pre-req courses you take. It may help to consult with the admission department of the schools of interest in determining this -- many schools offer informational sessions which are open to prospective students to ask questions.
If your current school offers advising for healthcare majors/pre-majors I strongly suggest you reach out to them as they can provide advice specific to the program where you are taking your pre-reqs, their program, and local nursing programs.
2) Even if you have enough coursework for an associates degree you will not be eligible for a RN-BSN program as these are programs to bridge RNs who've completed an associates in nursing to the BSN-level. An associates degree may allow you to enter a traditional 4-year BSN program as a transfer student and focus only on nursing coursework prior to graduating with BSN. (Essentially completing a BSN in 2 years instead of 4 years due to bring credits with you).
3) Any RN program (ADN or BSN level) will require in-person time for clinicals and labwork, though you may be able to complete some didactic coursework online. You may want to see what supports exist in your current social network and in your community for assisting your parents while you are in school.
4) There are a number of website which offer scholarship application information - try googling some. Additionally, speak with financial aid departments of the schools you are interested in - they can direct you to school specific and local scholarships and grants which may have less competition than nation-wide scholarships found online.
5) Since you need to stay local for family prioritize looking at local nursing programs first (those in commuting distance) before looking at other states (unless of course you live near a state border and the program is in commuting distance).

An ADN/RN requires two years of nursing courses and clinicals IN ADDITION to the prerequisites you are doing. So from the sounds of it, no you are not close to completing that and you won’t be able to do an online program.
Hello , and thank you for responding. I have another question in the previous forum you guys were saying their are programs that are online and maybe be able to get your clinicals in your local area . I wanted to find out if you knew the schools that are online that offers these classes with clinicals aspect in my local area ? If so I would have to find out the accreditation help? The schools I am talking too I actually have all the prerequisite for the bsn and associate degree in nursing . If I decide to go to associate they are telling me their is about 4-5 classes I need . Bsn I want online . I do not mind advice please let me know what you think . Martina

You really should go to a local public community college/university and talk to a nursing counselor that can advise you about what ADN programs are available in your area, and they can also look at your transcripts and tell you how close you are to applying to an ADN program. This will not be online.
After you finish an ADN program, then you can look into online RN-BSN programs.
Hello and thank you for the information. That is exactly what I am doing right now . A local college Is going to take a look at my transcripts . Also I spoke the nursing department head and she said this should make my class load easier each semester. That is great because I wanted less class each semester. I think by looking at a glance I need 6 classes according to their program . Oh I also talk to another college that is a larger college that offers BSN online . They told me once I get the associate degree in nursing I can apply with them for the BSN . If you guys know what I can look for non government grants and scholarships please let me know . I am trying to stay away from governments aid plus I do not think I qualify. I am very please I had paid off my past loans and by the love of god I do not want to get back into debt . Any information , any tips , anything you can help me achieve my nursing please let me know . I am very grateful for everybody on this forum for helping me . You guys are truly angels . Martina
