Grants

How does one qualify for grants. Would someone with an EFC of 5000 qualify for a grant if the COA is 23000

Featured Replies

can i ask a question? why are you so bent on this $23000 school? no one will care what school you went to.

That is the cheapest private school in my area. Other schools (state schools) you need a certain amount of credits to get in another school you need to attend there first...btw im going for a BSN

well there are no easy wins...either you pay for it with hard work or money plus hard work. personally i would much rather spend my time and effort than my money and effort. jmo

your opinions are very welcomed here. I knowww loans are going to suck

I know the grants are 5500, but the dept of Ed graph shows that EFC's above 4617 are in eligible. However, the instruction that comes with the graph increases that EFC to 5273. However you should have received 555, and should receive that again next year.

Sorry if I'm thread jacking but can you post a link to the graphs your talking about? Thanks!!

Dang newguy (or newgirl) already challenging facts :p

Usually I would just tell someone to do their own research on something like this (to boost your google-Fu and research skills) but I am including it for this topic as I am passionate about minimizing the cost of edu, and taking edu very seriously).

It's wordy, but the is the end all for Pell.

What was your efc and what did they do for you

I can't remember my exact efc but it was pretty high so they found grants for me in other places. Check with your financial aid office and they will be able to assist you. Just make sure you fill out your fasfa!! Don't get discouraged they will find you some money from somewhere!!
