GPC Nursing Program - Fall 2015

Hello All,

I see that there is not a current thread for GPC. I just received an acceptance letter yesterday and I am ecstatic! I have applied to the program twice before and was denied, so imagine my surprise when I opened my mailbox. Can't wait to get started.

I was wondering if anyone else has received any news.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to know if anyone has received their nursing packets yet? I already sent my confirmation letter, fee, and passport photo, but no packet yet.

I called last thursday to confirm that they had received my confirmation letter and the women told me that they would be sending out more acceptance letters for open seats. She also said that they will have a time to accept and then they will send the info to everyone, at one time, by email.

Your nursing pack is what you will receive in skills lab, after school starts! It consists of the things you need to complete your check offs! You may also want to start looking into a good stethoscope because you will use it a lot, for both the first check off and in Clinicals.

Do they still offer the dosage calculation class ?

Thank you!! I was going to all and ask because I haven't gotten it yet either. I know 3 people who were accepted but declined so that make sense that they will offer some more spots first.

Thanks Stephanie! You have been a wealth of knowledge!

My only concern is making sure I have all the right vaccinations up to date for them. Do you happen to remember what all you had to get?

I've got my stethoscope picked out!

Flu is over so you'll be fine until Clinicals start. You have to have your tithers done(get that done early) hepatitis rounds, and ppd done. After school starts,Depending on your clinical site they may require different things and the paperwork can be hectic so be aware!

Stephanie, do we have to get all of our shots and tithers and everything by june 1?

I'm sorry I don't know the answer. If it says June 1st I would do it by then, but know that depending on the clinical site you may be asked to do another PPD, or if you haven't finished you HEP rounds then you will fill out paperwork saying you are in the process.

Hey everyone,

More information has been sent to your GPC email accounts, in case you haven't checked!

For the background check and drug screening....do we have to get it done on that site given? or can we get it else where?
