I am straight RN, and we are finishing up Fundamentals now. Semester 2 is Med Surg, then 3 is the Psych OB and PEDS. We've been told that LPN Students will be joining us next Semester but according to these links, that's incorrect and we'll actually be in different classes. LPN Bridge GPC Nursing-Program of Study RN GPC Nursing-Program of Study So it looks like you won't actually join my class until 3rd semester. As far as tests, they come from all over. Powerpoints AND Books are super important. If they say read it, they mean it. You really have to critically think and you really need to know your Maslow's and ABC's. I'm enjoying the program and doing better than I "was told" that people do in the nursing program. I've passed validations on the first try and have gotten very good grades on tests. I do study and put in my time though. (also a wife and mom) It won't be easy. If you don't have to work much, it's really recommended that you don't. My tip would be to find the study style that works well for you. I had to switch it up from how I got through pre-reqs. It really is a completely different ball game, so to speak. For us, second semester begins Jan 13th. Third will be next summer or fall, depending on grades and programs offered. I wish you well! Hopefully we can meet!

Tanya, I am in the program now and it sounds like you'll be joining me in med surg. Clinicals and skills labs can be any day of the week. Everyone is scheduled differently. Lecture and exams are on WEDS ans it's basically all day. The nurse pack bag, they provide with your deposit money. The uniforms are specific from a company called meridys and it's the only place you can order them from. Name tag too. You'll get an email link with a code for it. You need to buy all white leather shoes for clinicals. You'll need your own stethoscope and pen light as well. The books listed you will need. I was able to find used ones out there.

Well 2.6 is the minimum I believe but I'm sure they prefer much higher. Your science gpa really matters, as does the TEAS. I got in with a 3.95 overall, 4.0 sciences and an 80 on the TEAS. I've been told your gpa goes down in nursing so you probably can't start too low and make it through. Hope that helps some

Thank you!! I was going to all and ask because I haven't gotten it yet either. I know 3 people who were accepted but declined so that make sense that they will offer some more spots first.

I have been told that they do not allow you to work, so you might want to check into that, if it's a concern.

I am an older student as well. Nearly 40! I've been married for 16 yrs and have a 13yo son and a forever-7yo daughter in Heaven. She is my inspiration for my life change! Congrats to everyone! We should make a FB group or something!

Stephanie, On the math tests each semester, are they basic math questions, or actual dosage figures? On a scale of 1-10, how "hard" do you feel the math tests are? Thanks!

I had an 80 overall teas, 83.3 in both math and reading. A 3.95 over all GPA and a 4.0 sciences. Remember that they will only look at grades for classes listed on the nursing list and nothing else, so if you've taken extra classes, they won't count towards GPA. It's going around that a 65 TEAS is "competitive" but I'm not sure I believe that. At our campus (Newton) most of us were between the high 70's to low 90's. I was the 3rd highest from my classmates. Those who scored lower than high 70's haven't heard anything yet they say, though on another thread someone was denied with a 65 I believe. Try as hard as you can. I only had a bit over a week to study between the end of my semester and my test date, then my son and I both got sick during that week so I wasn't able to put as much towards it as I wanted to, but I was very happy with my score overall. I did good everywhere except scientific reasoning which is what brought me down. I had the ATI TEAS book and I also bought the McGraw Hill 5 test book. I was averaging in the 70's with those tests. GOOD LUCK!!

Nope. I attend Newton GPC. Have been here for 4 semesters :) Wish they held nursing at Newton, we have such a nice campus and classrooms! Clarkston fall 2015

I'm sorry estivo275. What were your stats like? I know of at least 3 who also got accepted that won't be going so there will be other spots.
