Hi, I finally was able to get an interview at Houston Methodist for the Medicine unit on Wednesday and I wanted to know if anyone knows what questions they might ask me? I really want to be prepared well for it because I want this job and to be able to finally start my nursing career after looking for 5 months for a job as a new RN. Any tips would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

Which one? If you are referring to the facility in the Texas Medical Center (TMC), their official name is "The Methodist Hospital"....seriously. They have a number of satellite facilities in most suburban areas around Houston, but I believe that only TMH is Magnet at this point. Congrats on your interview. They have a wonderful reputation and terrific employee benefits.

Jes07, I have an interview this week for Methodist's GN program! Any advice? Can you tell me what to expect/how the interview process is? It's my first interview & I'm totally freaking out!

So The Methodist Hospital is now Houston Methodist Hospital. We just went through a big name change last year and are still working towards changing all the logos and such. I can't really say how the interview process will go. Many times it depends on the unit manager. However, I interviewed as a GN several years ago at one of their suburb locations. The process was: first a brief interview with one of the managers, then, a five-panel interview. Each person in the panel asked a question. They really range from "what are your strengths and weaknesses" to "what would you do in this type of situation". It can be very intimidating so be prepared. I actually didn't get the GN job, but interviewed as an experienced nurse and was offered a job on the spot (no five-panel interview with this job). The GN residency program is super competitive so be prepared. Dress in a suit (no exceptions). Methodist has an awesome reputation and is a great hospital system to work in. Good luck!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Hi, I agree with what Alherm posted, be prepared for questions like that. Like the post said it is very competitive to get into their residency program. Be prepared to answer behavioral type questions, since most interviews like to ask those type of questions. Good luck on your interview!

What did you do when you didn't get the GN job? Is there a way to get hired without doing the residency? I'm new to Texas. I graduated in May and I still haven't found a job. I'm getting really nervous and I don't know what to do.

hi! I found this post and I know this is a super late response LOL. I, too, have been searching for a job for about 5 months. What did you end up doing? Do you have any advice? I am interviewing with 3 separate Methodist locations this Monday ?
