Hello~
I am just starting school on Monday, and we have been told we need to get good white shoes for our uniforms. Does anyone have any suggestions on good shoes to wear? Are Crocs good shoes to wear?
Thanks for the advice

We're on the same boat with that one! I start school August 20th, and I need some good all white shoes, but I don't know which ones to get! There are so many other threads about good shoes on here, but there are also so many different opinions about each shoe. Some say Danskos are the best, others say they are too tight in the toe area. Some say Crocs are good (I have a pair but they have holes & my school doesn't allow them), others say they trip a lot in Crocs. I hear a lot about New balance & how people swear by them, other say they wear out extremely fast. It all boils down to us just going to a store and trying on the different kinds for ourselves. If you find anything out for this wide, flat-footed girl here, LET ME KNOW!!!

I swear by New Balance sneakers. I can wear them for an entire 16-hour shift with no foot pain whatsoever...

One thing I don't miss about nursing school is the white shoes!! Crocs are very light weight and comfortable. You can find the professional kind that don't have the holes on the top.
Like I said, I have a pair of Crocs, and they are indeed very comfortable, but the holes at the top and the strap on the back are a big no-no at my school! I so wish they were closed-back shoes!!!!

You can get Doves or Dansko. Or you can get some white sneakers. I would not recommend Crocs because they have holes. You would not want certain liquids (bodily fluids if you catch my drift) to seep into your shoes and socks! Good luck.

I love the brand Saucony. They're really comfortable.

I don't know if Earth Shoes are allowed but they are super comfy! I have a pair that I wear for over 10 hours straight a day/5 days a week with no pain. They come in several designs. And, they help with posture.

I have flat and wide feet and wear orthotics. I also have chronic knee pain and scoliosis (yep, messed up). Anway, I use Saucony omni. It comes in wide, and it provide moderate stability. I use the same brand for running/cross training. I hope this helps. Good luck!
