Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of a reputable agency to work for in MD? I used to do agency work all of the time, but it seems like they've all gone out of business!
Thanks...

I believe the name of the agency my sister works for and loves is called Nurses Now. She makes a VERY nice salary, too!
Good luck!

Hey, I am from Miami but I am doing a travel assignment in fairfax. The local agency for the DC metro area is CTS (contemporary nursing solutions). That seems to be the agency for this area that is really popular. They staff for Northern Virginia, Maryland and DC. I think their web address is www.rnstaffing.com b/c they are affiliated with RN staffing, but when you get to the website, CTS's homepage pops up with their contact info.
I actually signed up with CTS while in the area so if you have any other questions, you can IM me.

I think "walk through" means that you can get aliscense in a short period of time.To find out quickly about the liscensure requirements for each state but without going to the actually boards website, do this:
Go to yahoo and do a search for the travel company, "Travel nurse across america". Then when you get to the site, go to do a job search. Now when you search, It doesn't really matter the specialty, but make sure to click "RN". Well search jobs by state and then pick any job. Well when that job profile comes up, you will section a link that says "Liscensure info" and it will tell you the liscensure requirements for that state.
This may seem like a lot, but for me its easier than going to the board of nursing's website for a given state and sifting through all that and opening pdf files just to find liscensure requirements. Hopefully, this helps. If not sorry in advance for wasting your time.

i have no plans of being a travel nurse.i prefer to have a stable job there in maryland. i know an agency here in the philippines where they give stable job for nurses, stable place and not a travelling one coz it wont be advicable for a nurse who has her/his own family..it's just now that i learned it is a "walk through" city. is it still possible for me to work there for the longest time i want? thanks alot! i'll be waiting for more infos
