hello,
i am thinking about applying for my GN. My school will not approve or send off my paperwork unti after 1/22. I have a position and was wondering what start date I should give the recruiter. I know I am crazy to hope that I would get it my Feb., but I have high hopes.
anyone have any advice? or remember about how long it took for the GN permit to come in the mail?
i want to start in Feb, because I dont think I will be taking boards until March.
thanks

I was able to get a temporary liscence within 2 weeks of graduation. I think the first week of orientation is alot of watching videos, learning policies, tours etc.. I personally won't be having any patient contact the first week, so you may want to ask your soon to be supervisor. It may be worth it to apply :)

My school sent my paperwork to the NV state board of nursing on 12/21 (Friday) and I had my GN license issued on 12/24. It all depends on how fast they process your paperwork! Half of my class had theirs issued on 12/21. My last name is near the end of the alphabet though, so I got to wait over the weekend.
