Does Gentiva pay per visit? or do they do hourly rates??? Is anyone familar with this company as far as what they want your case load to be etc...
What would you say the biggest difference between places like Gentiva, Amedysis, etc... compared to Home Health based out of a hospital??

Both are for profit. Neither big presence in PA/NJ/DEL area.

Worked for a Gentiva office doing extended care, was paid hourly along with mileage as an incentive because the case was so far away and nobody wanted to drive that far. When this case and the other case that I worked on switched agencies, the office changed its business focus to wound care with a new Director. She said I had to be "evaluated" on my wound care skills, an impossible task since neither one of my cases had wounds and they weren't around anymore anyway. My supervisor at Gentiva told me that they reduced her hourly rate of pay three times during the time she worked for them. They paid me the lowest of all the home health companies that I've worked for. They have very few offices in my neck of the woods, and have closed offices in the past few years. As I recall, they sold off their rehab section about the time I stopped working for them. I also recall that the office I worked out of could never get or keep a supervisor. If it were me, I would look to the other nationwide employers, such as Interim or Maxim, for steady home health employment.
