For a while, I had difficulty hearing heart tones. This really scared me. Bottom line, I had to change scopes. The hearing specialist told me NOT to use Littman scopes, try an augmented scope which can cost $1,000.00, or purchase a Hewlett Packard Sprague Rapport scope. I hear beautifully with my HP, no augmentation and it cost about $160.00.

Hi There,

I have a slight hearing loss in the range and decible level of breath sounds. I bought an Gai Tronics and paid about $250.00.

It amplifies great, but it amplifies EVERYTHING great! :-) I have a father who wears a hearing aid and he says it is the same problem he and many others have who wear hearing aids.

WHat I am re-training myself to do now is to pick out the souonds I am trying to hear out of all the back ground noise.

My advice is to buy a better Litman or equally good brand acustical scope and live with it. I have a Sprague acustical and it just doesent cut it.

I am now saving my money for a Litman Cardiac II. I don't think I will ever be able to use my hi-tech electronic scope effeciently.

Jim C. :-)
