FSW Spring 2018

Just go to the bookstore and tell them you're starting the nursing program. They will show you the textbook bundle and the ATI access code that you will need to purchase.

Evidently there was a bit of confusion about the ANEW program structure and some false info went out to us. Some of us were told that the class starting in the spring is 18 months long and runs through the summer. I spoke to the top nurse director today and he confirmed that the ANEW program does not run through the summer. Classes are only in the spring and fall. I just wanted to let those of you in the ANEW class know (if you didn't already).

Did anyone order the books online? I visited the bookstore at Lee & they were sold out. They'll be in stock December 12th, so I was told to order online.

Anyone know for certain what kind of shoes are required/permitted for the sim lab/clinicals? I recall reading in the nursing orientation that they need to be white but I'm not sure if that means completely white or just mostly white. Does they need to be a certain material? What do you guys plan to wear?

Clean and all white leather shoes with no color logos according to the manual.

I ordered a pair of k-swiss from Amazon for $33. I'll see how far those get me.

I bought white dansko professional clogs with the high back, all leather and white. I took them to the school and they were approved $89-119 on Amazon. I have a semi bad back so they are worth the money for me...

I'm heard for traditional it's 3 days a week plus an online pharmacology class. I'm too excited I seriously thought it was 5 days a week 9:30-5...

I was accepted to the traditional program at Lee. I chose a 3 day a week schedule but I could've chosen 4. Clinical on Monday's, Health & wellness on Tuesday's, Pharmacology (hybrid) & practicum on Thursday's.

Okay awesome. & as I read this thread oh my it's so much to do. I'm definitely going to bother you'll come fall about the program. Do & don'ts. Were you all able to get books that were used by the other student or do your books have to be new. I know you maybe able to get a used book and just buy the access code? Has anyone thought of that.

That is awesome I can only imagine. Well tell me how does 3 go, I will actually be driving well over 1hr and 30mins to the campus so I'm in between doing Traditional and ANEW.

Yes there is a lot to keep busy with, getting things checked off the list leading up to beginning the program! I've got my BLS course tomorrow..

As for the books, Yes I assume you can buy them used or separately. Just make sure it won't cost more to buy them separately than it will to buy the bundle deal from the bookstore. Maybe some on here bought used. I just opted to go through the bookstore to avoid any issues

Does anyone know how the content will be taught in the ANEW online portion? I would assume that there will likely be video lectures and/or power points..?
