FSW Fall 2015

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

Me too. I don't even want to announce it to a lot of people until I get the whole, "okay your officially a nursing student" packet or acceptance. Lol that's why I really want FSW to hurry. I really wanna tell people!!

I just want to say to all of you that I'm really proud of us! We worked hard to get to this point! Considering the background/drug tests all clear for everyone...we all will be starting our first day of RN school in only 10 weeks and 3 days!!!!! (that's if I counted correctly lol) So nervous and excited at the same time!

Hey guys!! I'm in the same situation. My fingerprints are still being review but everything is done and has gone through. I'm so excited I hope we all get in! I mean we've made it this far and we all know FSW is really competitive.

Exactly. I'm super excited but I don't want to say much just in case. The suspense is killing me!!!

I got a response. She said the last part will be completed when almost the whole class has there's done.

I am going to guess that we probably won't hear back about our fingerprints until after the 15th since that is the deadline... Has anyone heard anything different? Once all that is completed I heard from one of my friends (who is in the program ahead of us) that we have until January (when our clinicals start) to complete the following: CPR certification (Which they will ask us to schedule with a lady at Health Park Hospital); Physical Exam; Immunizations (Including flu shot) and PPD (TB) test. Fun stuff! :)

What if you ready have all that stuff done? I'm doing my PPD test now I had my physical yesterday and I received my CPR 2 weeks ago. I needed to do all of it for my new job as a CNA

From what I understand from people I know in the semester ahead they had to have all of the cpr training, immunizations and health reports completed before classes begin to start the clinicals. That it's a disqualifying factor if we don't complete them before the program starts.

Well yea but I was just wondering if I have to do it again through the schools provider or if I can just submit the documentation. I guess when it comes time to do it I'll find out more. Getting a little ahead of myself lol

I think that as long as you are up to date on all they ask for that should be ok lol, but I think you're right, we should probably wait until they tell us for certain. :)

Feels great to have everything done! I'm sitting here watching the sunset on Islamorada with a fishing pole in my right hand and a cold drink in the other ; )

I can only take the drug test on Monday which is the deadline day also.. I wonder if that'll be okay :(
