FSW Fall 2015

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

Still anxiously waiting....I'm with you all; hoping to hear something tomorrow.

Yes, they don't actually send acceptance letters for the school. They send emails with information. It is a little vague. I would recommend calling admissions to check. Unfortunately yes you would have to be accepted to the school before being accepted to the nursing program.

My prayers are with you guys I am still waiting with you guys anxiously. It is as if though I applied. I haven't applied for this term, but pray that you all get accepted.

Yes u have to be a student (enrolled) in order to be accepted into the program....They should have seen this on your transcripts. Unfortunately, the money can't be refunded....Hopefully since a large amount of time has passes, maybe you were already considered a student.....didn't you have to put your student ID number on the application? And if you have an FSW email, you are a student....I would check on the portal, do a degree evaluation, that will tell you for sure

I hope today is the day.

I dreamt last night that I was accepted to the nursing program but I couldn't go to class because it was full. However, I had to listen to lectures in the janitors closet.

Lol what kind of dream was that?

Question......If someone is accepted but decides not to take the opprotunity whatever the reason like not their ideal choice, or like I read in last Fall 2014 thread was accepted into FGCU, does that opening go to the next person in line?

I would hope so, but yes i am pretty sure thats what happens

Unfortunately, there is no waiting list so therefore that spot is left empty and no one takes it. Unfair, I say but that's how FSW does it. :(

I was told that if someone changes their mind, the spot goes to the next person qualified. Same idea goes with if the person fails the background check, drug test, etc. They don't keep apps but if you got the too many applications email, you could still be considered. This is also why we have to apply so early, gives them time to make changes.

That's good to know Kat. I was told since there is no waiting list then there is a lost spot. I really hope that is the case because it is unfair.

So I emailed them and they said in some cycles they choose an alternate list just in case but she isn't sure about this cycle. She also told me they don't have a finalized list yet so they will not be not emailing today. Another day of torture. :nailbiting:

Ugh!!
