From Australia to UK

Hi everyone,

to start off with I'd like to introduce myself.

I'm an italian who has migrated to Australia 15 years ago, I trained as a nurse here in Australia and have been working in anaesthetics and Recovery for the past 5 years.

I've become aware that the NHS comes to Australia to reclute nurses to work abroad and I'm strongly thinking to participate to the event next June 2019.

Im well aware of the resist ration process for nurses trained outside the EEA, but a detail is missing for me and I cannot find it anywhere on the Internet.

Would i see my years of experience in Australia recognised by the NHS? Or would I start earning at entry level?

Thank you for the attention.

Simone Giurastante.

I guess a lot depends on the manager on whether they accept previous experience and place you appropriately on the band scale

Specializes in Advanced Practice, surgery.

I would accept your experience, I've recruited Australian nurses and they generally adapt well to life in the UK

Specializes in Surgical, quality,management.

Simon get a certificate of service from your HR. Also you can get a certificate from AHPRA regarding your registration status which when the 2 are combined show your registration in years plus your hours of work.

Thanks a lot for the comments guys, it really helps!!
