Ado I think I'd find statistic dull but a degree in it could be useful

Dianah this is a cheesy corn bake...corn, milk, cream cheese, pepper jack, and bacon

Hi Tweety

Stars I was woken up last night, but by wind not thunder

NJ22 hope he doesn't have a fracture

Work was kind of crazy, got a new case and a whole lotta documents to review.  Worked like mad in the morning and cut lunch short.  Still had just enough time to pick up some milk for the recipe, which I'd forgotten. Thankfully did not have to spend time on the side project.  A bunch of voicemails for the afternoon but things were quieter.  By the end of the work day had time to start the potluck dish.  Rest of the night was quiet, just exercised

Today hopefully will be better at work.  Have the potluck this evening.  Finding that as much as I complain about being busy something in me kind of likes the challenge

Will be in the 40s again and quite windy

Good morning.

Joe, hope you have a good day at work.

Stars, hope you enjoy your few days of privacy if that's what it ends up being.

I had to take on semester of Statistics to get my BSN and I had a 100 average.  Math has always been relatively easy to me and I've always made A's since high school.  Statistics was a big confusing and hard to grasp.

I'm still feeling a bit blah and when I cough my chest hurts.  Going to just lay low today.  Still having early morning insomnia.  I decided at 4AM to do an incident report about something that happened yesterday.  I was able to go back to sleep when I realized it wasn't time to get up but it was a struggle.  Seems to be a pattern lately.

Going to lay low today.  Make a grocery store run and potter about.  Watch a movie later.

Have a great day.

J22, that's no fun. I hope he doesn't have a fracture, but figure it will hurt for a while whether fractured or not.

I was a math-y person, too, and did well in most of my college math classes (statistics was not my best). Twin A is taking calculus and asked me to look at a problem the other day to see where he had gone wrong (I found an algebraic error) but when he talks about certain topics from his class, I think "I remember those words, and at one time they meant something to me..."

Spent most of my day trying to organize the piles of paper on my desk. But one can only spend so many hours doing that before burning out. My eyes feel glazed over.

It has been a rough week for our ED staff. Including when late yesterday afternoon the one (midlevel) provider had an apparent stroke. Another provider was able to come in to take over the patients (including the original provider), but it took some time since they don't live here in "Smallville" but closer to the metro. Kudos to the nurses who held it all together. Then there was a death of a very young patient today.

Oh, Ado, certainly a rough day -- for the staff-->stroke patient, the staff, and the young death and then staff having to deal with that.  Is there any debriefing done after days like today?

Joe, the recipe sounds good!

I met S at her house, and we made lemon curd, then tried it out over some lemon-sour cream cookies she'd baked earlier.  YUM!  Had a good natter, too.  We agreed it was actually easy to make, but time-consuming -- thus why it's usually so expensive!

When I got home, dh was picking cumquats to give to bassist and fiddler when we see them on Sunday for the Gospel Sing.  Bassist makes marmalade, so he had asked for some.  We picked two large bags full -- probably 10# each.  If they want more, dh says they are welcome to pick more!  We probably picked only 1/20 of what the tree holds, it is bursting with cumquats!  They are not the go-to fruit for many people.  Ya gotta eat the whole thing at once, skin and all.  The skin is sweet, the insides sour, and the combination is yumm!  But I think it's an acquired taste.

It was 91 degrees earlier, but with a high cloud cover, didn't feel that hot -- felt nice and balmy when I was out picking cumquats with dh.

We will do a Zoom call tomorrow with the kids.

Have a good evening and weekend!

I went to do a few errands; I was going to bring my "new patient" forms to the dentists office, but there was a sign on the door that said they are closed from 1-2 PM for lunch. I decided it was a good time to go get my nails done (with the gift cert given to me by SiL for Christmas). . When I went back by the dentists office they still weren't open, so I figured maybe they don't work on Fridays. Anyway, I stopped at the grocery store to get TP and the price was $16 or $17 for a package with six rolls! I got the cheap store brand instead.  GADS! $17 bucks to use after I use the bathroom ... kind of steep, if you ask me!

Y'know, now I am wondering if the "visit" SiL and I go to at Nannie's facility is actually going to be the day of her discharge, and SiL didn't want to tell me. Guess I'll find out on Monday. (grump-grump-grump)

I've been watching the History Channel a good bit lately. Nice to have an alternative from HGTV. There were no movies on that I wanted to see and a few I've already seen.

Tomorrow I will (I hope!) do some straightening up in my room and vacuum, and organize some paperwork so it isn't scattered here and there.

And it is supposed to be a beautiful day, sunny and not too hot or too cold.

Okay, got to get in my pj's and then give Ms Tink her bedtime snacks,
